Introduction

In this assignment I am covering Unit 24: Photographic Studio Techniques and Unit 4: Design Methods in Art and Design. The aims of this assignment are to develop knowledge and skills in studio techniques and the requirements associated with specialist types of studio photography, it also aims to develop knowledge, understanding and skills in communication through art and design by researching how other practitioners primarily use visual imagery to communicate ideas, messages and meanings.

We have to choose three different categories to photograph from the list below:
- Beauty
- Clothing
- Food
- Health and Wellbeing
- Jewellery
- Sport
- Technology
- Transport

I have chosen these three categories:
- Food
- Sport
- Technology

Initial Ideas

Initially for my food idea I was going to create flags out of the countries foods, but after thinking more about it I have decided to focus on Pizza's and create faces on them out of the ingredients which are used for all different types of pizzas. i am also going to be trying to create a 'pac man' style photo where I cut a slice of pizza out so it looks like pac man and then make it look like it is chasing all the ingredients to eat them and create a pizza with all different toppings on.

For my sport image I am hoping to focus on one single piece of sports equipment eg, a ballet shoe, a riding boot, a tennis racket etc. I want my images to be still life so I will not be having any models in my shoot. I am hoping to photograph a range of different equipment to see which works the best however i am hoping my end result will be a piece of dancing equipment.

I am hoping to create an image similar to the apple iPod silhouette adverts, i also want to try and include the element of silent discos in my advertisement so I may mix the two together and have all the image lit instead of just the background, I may also use multiple models so that it looks more like a silent rave or just a group of friends having a good time. All the models will have white headphones in and be holding either an iPod or iPhone.
