Recreating Poster Advertisement

On the 11th September we were set a mini task to recreate an advertisement we had seen and thought was effective.

We have chosen to advertise BIC pens, we have two ideas and we are going to see which one works the best, one idea is to place two different bic pens on a notepad and placed on a desk as if it were a teachers desk because I always relate the BIC 4 colour ball pen with teachers and school because all my teachers used them. We also had the idea to have around 10 ball point pens from Poundland and then one BIC ball point pen sticking out like the image seen underneath. 

We are going to take photos for both our ideas and see which one works best as an advertising campaign, we will also be adding the bic logo and a small slogan at the bottom of our posters.

Final Image

I think this task was quite successful and I am happy with our final image because it is colourful and you can clearly see what is being advertised. I think however if we were to re-do this task we would spend more time in the studio so that our images were not over or under exposed as many of them were, I do believe that this is just due to inexperience and not enough time in the studio and could be easily solved.
I also think we could have taken photos of many different bic items not just their pens, so we were advertising a wider range of items, this would have made our final image a bit more interesting without overcrowding it.

Sandwich Board Advertising

On the 18th September we were set a mini task to create a sandwich board and go out on location and take photos of us wearing it, we were advised to use photos from our previous mini task to save more time to create the board.

We have used the photos from our previous mini task shoot, and we selected our best image and printed it out on A3 and then created some handles out of wallpaper.

I am not overly pleased with the final result of this mini task, I don't think the location we chose was the best we could have found, however due to only a short period of time and limited locations I think we found the best location we could have. If I were to re-do this task I would give myself a longer time span and travel to a suitable location where I could get a variety of different shots.

Billboard Advertising

On 2nd October we were set the task of going out and photographing existing billboards/advertisements in shop windows and walls. Once we had done this we were asked to photoshop our advertisements onto these billboards, trying a couple of different ones to see which works best.

We used advertising images that we had already taken on previous mini tasks/for our assignments.

I am not happy with the outcome of this mini task, I don't feel it looks real........
